FAQS

Do you only work on client experience, or can you help with marketing and business development generally?

Both, client experience and strategy is one of four areas we work in, alongside business development & marketing, partnership & team health, and coaching, mentoring & training. Most clients come in through one of these and often end up drawing on more than one.

Can you help when the real issue is how partners work together, rather than marketing or strategy?

Yes, partnership and team dynamics is one of the four core areas, covering decision-making, alignment, friction between partners, and leadership team effectiveness, often facilitated as direct, honest conversations rather than a written report.

Don't we already know our clients? Why do you need to ask them directly?

Most leadership teams believe they understand their clients well, simply because internal teams see their own firm from the inside and assume others are the same. Direct client research replaces assumption with evidence, and it consistently raises things leadership didn't know, both good and bad.

What does an executive coach actually do?

Work one-to-one with leaders and partners on the personal challenges of senior roles; transitions, confidence, difficult relationships and decision-making under pressure. Drawing on formal coaching qualifications and 25 years inside professional services and charity organisations.

How does AI change how firms need to think about client experience and marketing?

Clients increasingly research and choose firms through AI assisted research rather than search engines alone, which means how a firm is described, reviewed and structured online now shapes who gets considered at all. Both marketing strategy and client-experience strategy now have to account for this.

Do you work with individuals as well as firms?

Yes, alongside Board level, we coach and mentor individual leaders directly: in person across Southampton, Portsmouth and London, or remotely for clients elsewhere in the UK or internationally.

Can you deliver training for our partners or senior team, not just one-to-one coaching?

Yes, training for leaders and BD teams is one of our core services, built from real organisational insight rather than a generic syllabus, and previously delivered to firms including KPMG, PwC, EY and Allen & Overy.

Do you work remotely, or only in Hampshire and London?

Both, based in Hampshire, working in person across Southampton, Portsmouth and London for board advisory, partnership and firm-based work. Coaching and mentoring is also available fully remotely, anywhere in the UK or internationally.

What's the difference between a mentor, a coach and a consultant and which do I need?

Broadly: a consultant is brought in to solve a defined business problem, a coach helps you work through your own thinking and decisions, and a mentor shares direct experience of having faced similar situations. Most clients need a blend of the three, which is why all three are offered rather than just one.
